Ghana launches it’s second assembly plant with Toyota

Ghana launches its second assembly plant in Ghana which will help reduce import of second hand vehicles. As part of the country agenda to help create more jobs in the country.

According to the President of Ghana on Tuesday said the second assembly plant in Ghana with Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing Company Limited will bring a huge benefit to the country by reducing import of second hand vehicles in the country and besides will boost export earnings.

Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing Company Limited is located in the Freezones Enclave in Tema.

President Akufo-Addo commissioning the plant said it will help make the acquisition of new vehicles by Ghanaians more affordable as well as enable public sector workers to be able to afford and purchase locally assembled vehicles.

“Government will continue to create the enabling environment to boost the profitability of the emerging automobile sector in Ghana,” he said.

Besides, the assembly plant unit, worth $7 million investment with yearly production capacity of 1,330 units. This lead to more opportunity for other automobile manufacturers like Honda and Peugeot to enter the Africa Market as a result of used-car reduction.
